Support for Children with Foreign Roots
Children Across Borders (CAB) provides diverse support for children's best interests on a wide range of problems that cannot be resolved alone by Japanese resources. In order to best represent the needs of each of our clients, we social workers collaborate with lawyers and other experts knowledgeable in issues regarding foreign nationality, as well as relevant international organizations and foreign embassies in Japan.
Our Services
We assist children with statelessness in the process of acquiring nationality status.Social workers and lawyers provide advice and professional assistance regarding the procedure.
Children with foreign nationality in social care could have other options besides staying in Japan. We can assess their relatives who live abroad to see if they can provide a therapeutic environment for the child to live with.
We assist clients with the process of adopting a child in Japan from overseas, including home study, documents, translation, and submission.
We provide learning opportunities on various topics from multidisciplinary perspectives, including law, diversity, and multilingualism. We arrange case studies and lectures by professionals who work in Japan and overseas based on requests from child care, government, medical, and welfare institutions, as well as other fields that provide support for children with foreign roots.
